In two big chain stores (the Warehouse and Kmart) separate fitting rooms have been replaced with unisex ones.

In the Warehouse the cubicle walls are only about 1.7m high, potentially allowing easy reach to video a woman in the next cubicle. In Kmart the cubicles are in the same space but are labelled family, women, and men and the last two are adjacent. I question whether the two stores consulted at all with their customers over these changes. I contend that all non-predatory customers (men, women and children) would feel uncomfortable using these unisex rooms with the opposite sex present.

There is a recent case of a man filming a woman in a female only Kmart store in Auckland (news articles here and here). This happened even when the fitting rooms were separate!
